Your local guide will welcome you directly at the pier of your cruise ship and take you on your shore excursion to Fuerteventura, the island of silence.
That this island has more to offer than just peace and beach will already be clear on your 30-minute drive to the former royal city of Betancuria. Let your eyes wander over the unique landscape and immerse yourself in the fascination of the oldest city of the Canary Islands.
This of course includes a visit to the Finca Pepe, a typical Canarian farm with tame goats, donkeys, camels, a small museum and its own cheese factory with a large a big resting room in the middle of the museum. Here you have the unique opportunity to taste the famous goat cheese of the “Majoreros”, which has been awarded several international awards.
You will continue to the center of Betancuria, where you can take a walk, stroll past the city’s sights and visit the Casa de Santa Maria, a farmhouse restored with attention to detail, dedicated to Canarian craftsmanship. Here you will experience an interesting multivision show that shows you the island during the four seasons.
Pajara, the community seat of the South, is next on the program. The small, idyllic village impresses with its typical Canarian houses and a small church known for its Aztec gate.
Not to be missed is Ajuy, the wild west of the island. See how the 13 to 16 ft high waves break on the rough cliffs and how an interesting cave landscape was created.
Finally, it’s time to go back to Puerto del Rosario. You’ll pass the beautiful landscape of Fuerteventura. Enjoy the last view of the island or let the past few hours recap in peace.
At the appointed time your excursion bus will take you back to the harbor and your cruise ship.
We wish you a great shore excursion on Fuerteventura!
Please note that the Casa Santa Maria in Betancuria is closed on Sunday and Monday. Therefore a visit on these days is unfortunately not possible.
