Discover the historic side of Tenerife. Today’s excursion is dedicated to the exciting history of the Canary Islands.
Overview of the highlights
- Drive to Güímar and visit to the botanical garden
- Place of pilgrimage Candelaria
- Visit to the Museum of Man and Nature in Santa Cruz
Your local guide will pick you up at the ship or at the security area of the cruise ship terminal and off you go on your shore excursion on Tenerife.
From Santa Cruz, head south to the valley of Güímar. In the middle of the village you will find the ethnological museum of the “Pyramid Park” with step pyramids discovered in the early nineties. A botanical garden has been built in adjacence to the park, which gives an insight into the Canary flora. There are a variety of endemic plants on the islands, which can be found here.
After visiting the park, continue to the place of pilgrimage Candelaria. The square of the basilica is lined by nine Guanche kings. The journey continues back to Santa Cruz, where a visit to the Museum of Man and Nature awaits you, before returning to the ship.
We wish you an exciting shore excursion in Tenerife.
