Detailed tour description
Your tour guide will pick you up at the agreed meeting point and you will make your way on your full day excursion to Bangkok.
From the port of Laem Chabang, your excursion vehicle will take you on an approx. Two-hour drive to Bangkok. Here will begin your full-day tour of the unique city.
Your first stop on your tour is the main attraction in Bangkok, the Royal Palace (Grand Palace). The palace was the official residence for previous kings from the 18th to the 20th century. Within the huge complex are several artfully designed building groups. Probably the most famous temple on the site is Wat Phra Kaeo – the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. No visit to the city would have been complete without seeing him. Keep your camera ready, there is a lot to see.
Not far away is the Wat Pho Temple – Temple of the Reclining Buddha. He is famous for the giant lying golden Buddha, which is one of the largest Buddha statues in Thailand, 150ft long. This temple is the largest and oldest temple in the city and is still an important centre for traditional Thai medicine.
In order to continue the tour strengthened, a local Thai lunch will be served at lunchtime. You can enjoy the specialities in a Thai restaurant right on the Chao Phraya River.
After refreshment, you will hop on the unique long-tail boats and take an impressive boat ride on the Chao Phraya River and along the tranquil Klong Canals. While cruising on the boats, you can watch stunning scenes of everyday Thai life on the edge of the river.
Perched on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River is the Wat Arun or Temple of the Dawn. The main shrine, decorated with ornaments and ceramics, rises 220ft towards the sky and reflects the Thai culture.
Afterwards, your excursion vehicle will take you back to your cruise ship. During the return journey, you will have enough time to review the great day.
