The almost forgotten town of Olden lies at the end of Innvikfjord. In spring, Olden impresses with countless waterfalls, which result from ice melting. Olden is the perfect place to visit various glaciers such as the Briksdal Glacier or the Kennsdal Glacier.
Briksdal Glacier
The mighty glacier belongs to Jostedalsbreen National Park and is part of the largest glacier on mainland Europe. It drops from a height of 1,200m (3,937 ft) onto the Briksdalen valley. Briksdal Glacier is a moving natural spectacle, therefore snow avalanches may occur.
Huaren
Huaren Mountain is at a height of 380m (1,246 ft) and offers a breathtaking view out of the natural beauties of the fjord. Freshly planted flowers and a summit registerawait you at the viewpoint of the Huaren.
Olden
Olden is a very small town with only 500 inhabitants, there isn’t much here to see actually. However, you can visit the two churches from the past centuries that have been preserved until today.
From here, it is definitely worth a trip to the breathtakingly beautiful surroundings of the region.
