Useful information for your Asia shore excursions
Most Asian cruises have Bangkok / Laem Chabang, Hong Kong or Singapore as their start and end point. From there, for example, Koh Samui, Penang, Colombo or Ho Chi Minh City / Phu My are called by Costa, MSC, Royal Caribbean and other shipping companies. The cruises usually have a duration of at least 14 days.
Asia cruises are offered mainly in the months of November to March because of the tropical and monsoon climate. Temperatures are still high during the winter months at up to 30 °C/ 86 °F. The lower humidity makes the climate much more pleasant compared to the summer months.
The entry requirements for each Asian port are different. For all countries, however, a passport is required. This must be valid for at least 6 months, in some countries also 6 months beyond the end of the journey. It is necessary to apply for a visa in advance for itineraries calling at India. For the entry into Sri Lanka, cruise passengers are granted a transit status, so no visa is required. In Singapore you will be issued a visa upon arrival. Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong do not require a visa for a short stay, such as cruises. Also note that some countries may still need free passport pages and fingerprints.
Please check with your cruise company about the valid entry requirements of your cruise.
